Is it time??

I just read this piece on CNN about how graphic pictures are appearing in UK on the cigarette packs to warn people about the harmful effects of smoking. It shows the picture of a person in surgery with the message of how smoking can clog arteries. Is it really time that we need to show such graphic images to stop people from smoking and will this really help? Now from what i know and what i have heard and seen smoking is a really big problem in UK as much as it is in the US. And if i wasn't in the health field or a dentist and i didn't know any better, this picture would really scare me. So what do you think? Will this message get across to people and will people stop smoking or will the number of smokers decrease?

pictures like this are what keep me from trying smoking. but if I was already addicted I don't think they would help me quit.

I believe that we should try anything there is to stop people from smoking. Even if you're already a smoker, I think this picture will make you think twice about smoking again. The message in this graphic picture can perhaps scare those that already smokers and prevent others from smoking.
